Aflas® (TFE/P) Selection Guide
TFE/P (Aflas) compounds, like fluorocarbons, contain high amounts of fluorine for increased fluid resistance and high temperature capabilities. The ethylene base in TFE/P compounds, O-rings, gaskets, & custom molded parts gives high resistance to steam, hot water, atmospheric wear, and many chemicals. TFE/P compounds, O-rings, gaskets, & custom molded parts provide superior performance in water, steam and virtually all caustic chemicals making them ideal for pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers that use steam and caustics in the sterilization process. TFE/P O-rings, gaskets, & custom molded parts also provide excellent performance in SIP (steam in place), CIP (clean in place) and WFI (water for injection) applications. TFE/P O-rings, gaskets, & custom molded parts are widely used in the oil exploration and drilling industry due to the materials excellent steam and H2S resistance.
Common names include: TFE/P (Tetrafluoroethylene propylene copolymer), FEPM) Trade Names: Aflas®, Fluoraz®
